Avşa Island

{Av-sha}

Avşa is a small island located in the Marmara Sea in Turkey. As one of the three islands in the Marmara Archipelago, Avşa is an island made entirely out granite. With precious flora and fauna and glimmering beaches, Avşa serves a hotspot for biodiversity and culture.

Like many coastal communities, Avşa is significantly impacted by climate change.

Our mission is to elevate indigenous voices through educational materials and climate competency to bring awareness to the systemic issues facing the Avşa ecosystem.
